Booking, pricing, and what to expect.

Who you're booking with

You're booking a dog grooming service with Keith's K9 Care, operated by Keith Kershaw at 4 Castle Meadows, Hall Green, Wakefield WF4 3QJ. Keith is iPET Network qualified and fully insured.

Pricing

Prices listed on this website are starting prices. The final price for your dog's groom may vary depending on coat condition, size, behaviour, and how long it's been since their last groom. Keith will always confirm the price with you in person before starting the appointment.

Surcharges are listed on the pricing page, covering matted coats, anxious dogs, extra-large coats and so on. You'll know about any of these before we start, so the bill always matches what we agreed.

Booking & cancellation

  • Booking is confirmed when Keith confirms the time slot with you by phone, WhatsApp or email.
  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours' notice. We're a single-groomer salon and a missed slot is one we can't fill.
  • Repeated no-shows or very last-minute cancellations may mean we ask for a small holding deposit on future bookings.

Your dog's welfare

This one matters most.

  • If your dog becomes too distressed during a groom for the work to safely continue, we'll stop, look after them, and call you. We'll only charge for the time actually taken, never for a full session we couldn't complete.
  • If your dog's coat is so matted that brushing it out would be painful or unsafe, the kindest option is a fresh start with a clip-down. Keith will always discuss this with you in person before picking up the clippers.
  • If we spot something during the groom that suggests a vet visit (skin condition, ear infection, lumps), we'll tell you. We're groomers, not vets, so we'll always defer to your vet for a diagnosis.
  • Please be straight with us about your dog's vaccination status, any bites or aggression history, and any medical conditions when you book. We can almost always help, but we need to know.

Payment

Payment is taken at the end of the appointment by cash, card or bank transfer. We don't take card payments through this website. If your bank requires it, we'll provide a written receipt.

Photos & reviews

We love a photo of your dog looking smart. We'll always ask before posting anything featuring your dog (with name or breed) on this website or on social media, usually a quick "okay if we share this?" by message. You can always change your mind later and we'll take it down.

Complaints
