"I'd been looking for a trustworthy dog groomer in the Wakefield area for a while, so glad I found Keith's K9 Care. Took my black Labrador Bella in and Keith was calm, professional and clearly knows what he's doing. Bella usually really doesn't like bath time or even her paws being touched but she was completely at ease with Keith, which says a lot. She came back looking and smelling great too. If you're after a dog groomer in Hall Green or around the Barnsley area, well worth a call."

"Took my Belgian Malinois, Red, to Keith for grooming and couldn't be happier with the result. Anyone who owns a Mal knows how thick their coat is and how much they shed, but Keith did an amazing job. Red came back looking absolutely stunning, with his coat looking fantastic. Professional, friendly service and clearly great with dogs. Highly recommended! Now it's time for Red to go and get mucky all over again!"
"Keith was great with Beano and a real dog lover. Beano came home silky soft and not the stinky boy he was. Beano will be back to see Keith for another bath after his holiday 🐾🐾"

How do I book?

Qualifications
Trust & qualifications
Are you qualified?
Yes - I am IPET (iPET Network) qualified, trained at Mrs B's Grooming Academy in Leeds. Fully insured.
Pricing
How pricing works
How much will it cost?
Full prices are published on our pricing page. Small dogs from £40, medium from £50, large or doodles from £60 for a full groom. We'll always confirm the price before we start, and we don't hide surcharges.
How long does a groom take?
A full groom is usually 1.5 to 3 hours depending on size and coat. Puppy first grooms are shorter (45 minutes to an hour) so we can take it gently.
Do you take large dogs and doodles?
Yes - all sizes welcome, including doodles, retrievers, and heavy-coated breeds. I own two large golden retrievers so am well suited to large long coated dogs and know exactly how filthy they can get!
Puppies
Puppies and first grooms
When can my puppy have their first groom?
Usually any time after their second vaccination (around 12 weeks). The earlier we can introduce gentle handling, water and the sound of clippers, the easier every groom for the rest of their life.
Can I stay with my dog?
Most dogs settle better when their owner isn't in the room, but if your dog is brand new to grooming or very anxious, you're welcome to be there for the first part. Just let us know when you book.
Nervous dogs
Nervous, rescue & older dogs
Will my dog be on their own, or with other dogs?
On their own. I groom one dog at a time in a quiet home setting. Every dog gets my full attention from start to finish, and I find that makes for a much calmer, more enjoyable experience for them.
My dog is nervous, can you still groom them?
Absolutely. The home setup is the reason a lot of nervous, rescue or older dogs come to us. We work at the dog's pace and take breaks when needed.
Still got a question?
Keith is happy to answer anything about your dog before you book, whether it's about their coat, age, behaviour or breed.
